Veronika Szalai is a practice-based researcher, designer, and teacher from Hungary. Her work is driven by a deep interest in cognition, discovery, and the dynamic relationship between art and play.
She has taught across secondary, higher and adult education, with a focus on design, material thinking, and creative experimentation.
As a designer, Veronika is particularly drawn to everyday objects that have accompanied humanity for centuries – and to the unique traces left on them by different historical periods. These imprints remain embedded in our surroundings until they become so conspicuous or unsettling that we feel compelled to transform them, reshaping them to align with contemporary perspectives.
Some of her notable works include Memorial Candles, New Time Clocks, and Cube 2.0 – a game that blends real and virtual patterns.
